Horses in Training
Old Stonehouse Farm accepts a few select horses each year into our training program. If you have a prospect that you would like us to consider please feel free to contact us for additional information and current openings.
We train our horses following the principles of classical dressage. Young horses are introduced to harness and groundwork and allowed to develop a natural carriage and learn to accept and understand being dressed at their own pace. We tailor individual schedules designed to fit each horse and the goals they are destined to accomplish. We place a great deal of importance on ground work and continue to work with the horses in long reins throughout their training. All horses enjoy a diverse schedule of long reining, riding, and driving sessions each week. We also encourage owners to visit and be a part of their horses training. Understanding and developing a level of comfort with our training methods and your horse are essential to carrying on a long and happy partnership with your horse!
We work in partnership with Gary Guz Stables on training and can offer a variety of disciplines.

Caliente OSF
Beautiful, big, dappled bay 3 year old Iberian Warmblood filly by Dichoso Uno. Already standing 16h+ this filly still has a lot of growing and maturing to do! She is very sweet and gentle to handle and knows all the basics. she is working undersaddle and will continue in full training until sold. Additional training is available in a sales package. This filly is bred for dressage and eventing and will be very competitive against the other warmblood and sport horses! IALHA registered. FEI Potential for this girl!

Phineas Taylor OSF
2006 Palomino gelding by Saphiro. Purebred Andalusian/Lusitano with lots of motion, strong hocks, open shoulder, very agile and quick! Finn is working undersaddle at three gaits. He will make a great classical dressage horse and shows a lot of potential for working equitation. Standing 15.1h this guy is still growing and maturing.

2000 PRE Andalusian mare standing 15.3h working basic dressage! This pretty girl is a proven broodmare and is back to working nicely undersaddle after some time off to have babies! Cece is a sweetheart, always there to greet you and happy to go to work! She has nice motion, comfortable gaits, is responsive and happy to show some brio!
