Horses in Training Old Stonehouse Farm accepts a few select horses each year into our training program. If you have a prospect that you would like us to consider please feel free to contact us for additional information and current openings. We train our horses following the principles of classical dressage. Young horses are introduced to harness and groundwork and allowed to develop a natural carriage and learn to accept and understand being dressed at their own pace. We tailor individual schedules designed to fit each horse and the goals they are destined to accomplish. We place a great deal of importance on ground work and continue to work with the horses in long reins throughout their training. All horses enjoy a diverse schedule of long reining, riding, and driving sessions each week. We also encourage owners to visit and be a part of their horses training. Understanding and developing a level of comfort with our training methods and your horse are essential to carrying on a long and happy partnership with your horse!
